What an eventful week! Undoubtedly a week of thought provoking days and nights with people on all political spectrums re-evaluating what matters most. One thing we can all agree on is that life is a roller coaster ride. The highs and lows seem out of control at times, but those of us who are grounded in God know where to go to stop the insanity that whirls around us.
My purpose in writing today is to offer hope. That is not always easy when some are in despair. Two years ago the Lord impressed on my heart the need to write my book, “Living in God’s Rest…At Peace in a Chaotic World.”We thought things were chaotic then, but look at us now! God knew the direction we were and are headed.
Don’t hide your head in the sand my friends. The world is in chaos and this chaos will not end because your candidate won. It won’t end if your candidate lost and has plans to arise from the ashes either. God is in control and He is the only one Who can end chaos. His Word stands and He offers us peace in the midst of all storms. If you choose to reject that peace, you have that option. You can run from Him, spit in His face, curse Him, whatever, but He still pours out love toward your heart and waits patiently for you to come to His lap of mercy and grace.
As troubles swirl around us, pain and suffering will hit many of our own families and homes. NOW IS THE TIME to come to the throne of mercy and get our hearts right with the Father. He protects His children. He instructs in the dark hours. He heals, delivers and provides. Only His sheep hear His voice. If you are backslidden, enjoying a sinful life, ignoring His promptings, you are in danger. If you’ve never come to Christ, you are in danger. When these serious disasters hit, where will you turn? Who will lead you to safety? How will you know what to do next? You will not hear the still small voice of the Lord. It could mean life or death to you.
It is possible to be at peace, when all around us in in chaos. God put on my heart many lessons in learning to walk in peace. He is our Peace. He instills peace within us. When disaster falls, how can we be light and offer hope to hurting people, if we are panicked and full of fear? We must learn how to trust God and rest in His arms. It is possible!!
