How confident are you that you are in sync with the truth? Daily we see posts on social media sites with arguing, debating and insulting comments because people are willing to speak out for what they believe. It’s interesting because each person believes they have the truth. And yet, their views are diametrically opposed. People choose where to get their news, who to follow on networking sites, which authors’ books to purchase and share, and so on. Naturally, each chooses those according to sources which agree with their own principles and philosophies. I find that most people would never even stop to consider that they could be deceived at any level. If so-and-so said it or reported it, it has to be true. We all know that there are corrupt people on both sides of the political aisle. We all know that the media doesn’t always tell the truth. (Don’t we all know that?) There is an emotional current that runs hard and deep to the point that even longtime neighbors or co-workers cannot have a calm, mature discussion over an issue. Our country has become a place of division and dissention like never before in history.
Recently, I’ve made attempts to research a number of news sources, publications and teaching sites online. This probing has encompassed all political parties, church denominations, religions and news reporting sites. I’m amazed at the way people can write, report, publish absolutely anything they please and it is accepted as pure truth. We need to wake up! If we are discerning intercessors, we will learn to pray over every report we hear and not take as fact everything that is put out there. More than once in the past week, I have sensed the Lord giving me a warning in my spirit as I begin to to get upset over a news report. Everyone in power has an agenda, and they are not all good ones.
I’ve learned also that devious people will quickly label others “conspiracy theorists” because that will cause listeners to immediately dismiss any questions they might have. It’s easier to ignore what’s uncomfortable if you can put the blinders on, say it’s baloney and go on with your life. Yes, there are conspiracy theorists who seem a little wacky, but there’s usually some element of truth in most of their ideas.
The Bible teaches us that in the last days we will be bombarded with deception. Many agree we’re in the last days, but refuse to admit to any possibility of being deceived. Isn’t that a bit arrogant, and frightening—to think that you could never be deceived? We can all be deceived if we are not walking in the Spirit, led and counseled by the Holy Spirit daily. We hear teachers in churches who use a couple of scriptures and proceed to distort the Word of God horribly, and the people in the pews are nodding and saying amen because they have no clue they’re hearing an out-of-context, perversion of the truth, which is just fitting an agenda that’s being presented. If it’s performed in an enticing way, and has a few verses thrown in, it’s convincing enough for most folks.
Why am I writing this? I have no need to stir up controversy but feel the Lord is pressing me to speak out. Your political party is not your saviour (or the saviour of the world) and both parties are full of deception. Your biblical teachers, many of them, are following a path to the one world religion which, I might add here, is not pleasing to God, but is in prophecy as a precursor to the antichrist system. Why would Bible believing Christians support universalists and those who push for one religion for all, when that religion contradicts God’s Word and is blasphemous? The answer to that is that basically they don’t know what God teaches. It just sounds wonderful to have everyone agreeing and coming together in peace. It is a compromise with deadly consequences. Deception masquerades as an angel of light.
I am going to be writing many blogs that fall into the realm of areas and degrees of deception. Not because I want to, either. I believe the Lord is opening my eyes to many truths that are painful. I would prefer to be blissfully ignorant and act as though nothing is wrong. However, when the Lord impresses these things over and over again, along with other confirmations, I know I have no choice but to be obedient. It will definitely not make me popular.
All I ask of you, my readers and friends, is that you would take the time to stop and pray and think about your adamant beliefs and how they line up with scripture. Stop and pray about who you are following. I was very surprised when God opened my eyes to some leaders who were not what I thought they were. I have no plans or desires to bash anyone at all. I only want to encourage people to wake up and smell the cappuccino before it’s too late. I assure you that God is serious about our responsibility to know His Word and to know what is false.
As we humble ourselves before Him, He will lift us up.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves.
Matt 18:7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!
1 Tim 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
John 14:6– Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Matt 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect– if that were possible.
Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
