Spiritual or Physical...or both

Written by

Sun rays bursting through my windows.  Dogs stretched out, soaking up the warmth. The sound of a tree trimmer buzzing off in the distance. Peaceful. Tranquil. Thoughts about the passage of scripture I just read are slowly permeating my soul. Prayer comes easily, smoothly. My Father is present and listening. My desire is to never move out of this moment.

Then the interruption of “the list” intrudes on the quiet. The list: call the groomer; make hair appointment; call refrigerator repair person; buy cleaning supplies; have keys made; call to dispute a bill; get family birthday gifts; study for speaking engagement. And more. The “list” swirls around in my head so that all the former peace begins to dissipate into a virtual calendar and clock competing for the energy inside me.

Life is what it is. No breathing human is exempt from the mundane. Things must get done.  The physical has a way of invading the spiritual and I resent that. But should I? This is how God created life. Is it possible to translate the spiritual into mundane physical tasks? This is my goal for this week. Ask my Father how to do that and wait to enjoy how He demonstrates it to me.

Certainly there are those who would pray for the ability to speak to repairmen on the phone. There are those who could never afford a groomer for their pets. Those who must wait for someone else to drive them. And so on. Gratitude is positioned at the forefront of the list; diminishes the dread.

What if I could never leave my chair, as I wished for, and therefore was unable to drive down the tree-lined highway, watching the deer and singing along with the radio? Would I be super spiritual without the physical?

It’s not only about gratitude. It’s about understanding the deeper work of walking in joy and peace, regardless of repairs, bills and chores.  For me, it’s a journey of discipline, meditating on God’s Word and dying to self. Now, there’s some large items for the to-do list!

No doubt it is all a matter of spiritual meshed with physical. Some say it’s all about attitude. Truth be known, it is a matter of surrendering the mind, will and emotions to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He takes it from there. And it spreads, soaks in, transforms, and radiates for His glory and for my joy.

Do You Have Solid Discernment?

Written by

I’ve written much about deception and discernment. There is a reason for that. Throughout my life, people have attempted to deceive me, and unfortunately some have succeeded. It’s a very painful experience, especially if the deception comes from someone you love and trust. Most of us can compare war stories and battle scars from those betrayals. The fact that we have to rise up, forgive and move on is content for another blog. It’s a tall order.

The Bible tells us that in the last days deceivers will be rampant. Deception is all around us, whether it’s through all types of media and leaders or neighbors and coworkers. The apostle Peter (1 Peter 2:1-3) warns us that even the church can and will be deceived by false teachers, tares growing along with the wheat, and wolves in sheep’s clothing.

It doesn’t take much to convince us of this. Just look at a typical day on facebook and you can spot false news articles, posts by people who believe lies, friends who have been caught up in deceptive theologies and prophecies. How do I know they’re false? They totally conflict with the Word of God. Not too difficult if the Bible is your foundation.

Recently a friend confronted me, disagreeing with my beliefs. She cited news sources that were so biased to her way of thinking that I laughed out loud. She stated that these were factual and nonpartisan.  But she’s no different than all the rest of us. We follow sources that agree with what we want to be true. What if she is wrong? What if I am wrong? I’m not perfect, but I am closely connected with the One Who is all Truth.

So, we acknowledge deception is alive and well. What do we do to guard against it?

Discernment is a gift, a God-given gift. We pray daily for the Holy Spirit to do in us what He was sent to do in us: counsel, comfort, guide. A person who is not born again, and does not have the Holy Spirit working in and through their life will not have that gift of discerning. That still small Voice speaks warning at critical times. He puts a check in our spirits when we’re headed down a wrong path. He closes doors that are not His path for us. He often opens our eyes to a dangerous leader or teacher that could deceive and lead us astray.

Does this mean that as Christians we will never fall prey to deception? Of course not. We can be so busy, so blindly trudging through our busy lives that we are not open to His promptings. Or, we can hear His warning and decide it can’t be God because thousands of people are agreeing that it’s this way or that. Or maybe it’s not what we were taught growing up.

Unfortunately, today we see people who call themselves Christians who sit in churches with theology that roams far off the path of Biblical truth because the leader is so engaging, so in touch with the folks, that he couldn’t be wrong. The music is great; the fellowship so fun and scripture is used. We see throngs of people who cannot identify when a scripture is twisted or used out of context to manipulate an agenda. Oblivious.

The Lord brings this subject back to me often. He longs to see His people walking in truth and keeping their armors in place, resistant to deception. I am grieved when I see people who do not seek out the Holy Spirit’s leading in their daily lives. I seek it diligently, for it means so much to me to be in His will. Again, I am aware I can make mistakes, but I’ll always be seeking His Truth.

The coming days will produce more deception in the world. The Bible tells us that many will fall prey to the antichrist system and perish because they are deceived by it. I used to wonder how that could possibly happen when good and evil are so opposite. But recently, my eyes have been opened to the vast number of people who call evil good and good evil. Even “Christians.” God says, “Woe to them!” Woe is not good. Woe means unimaginable misery and condemnation. (Isaiah 5:20-21) People who call themselves Christian and distort scripture to make it more popular and unoffending are playing with fire: hell fire.

Deception could be pulling you away from your God. Please go to Him and ask Him to reveal any areas where you might be deceived. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and give you warnings when you are getting off track. Stop, please stop, listening to the world. A crowd mentality leads to destruction. We are chosen, called, and set apart for a reason. We are mandated to bring Light and Truth to a lost and dying world. Without discernment, we are impotent and completely useless to the Kingdom of God.

Do you understand this season?

Written by

Daniel 2:21 (NKJV)

21 And He changes the times and the seasons;

He removes kings and raises up kings;

He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

It’s time my dear friends, for us to KNOW the times and seasons and to realize the season we are in at this hour. The world is spinning, biblical prophecies are being fulfilled, and the Lord is speaking to His faithful ones. I have such an urgency to impress upon you the need to get yourselves right with Him. The hour is late. The time is short. You cannot keep playing around with sin and doubt….or complacency.

Very soon we will see devastating things happening in our country, much like we now see in other countries. We are way beyond scoffing these off as conspiracy theories. If you can do that, you are not a student of the Bible, and you are not hearing from God. He is warning us, almost daily, that His judgments are upon us. Please do not ignore the warnings. If your life is focused on material gain, enjoying any particular sin(s) or just trusting in your own self-sufficiency (to name only a few), you are not going to have the strength to endure the road rising up in front of you. If you follow teachers who constantly spout how beautiful and wonderful the coming days will be, please, please go to the Lord and ask for His wisdom.

The Lord has spoken to me several times to prepare. He is speaking of preparing spiritually. When times are devastatingly painful, we cannot just crumple into a heap and cry in hopelessness. We are called to be a Light, to bring hope to those who are without Him, drawing them to His love and salvation. What purpose is there in a life that purports to be a Jesus follower, and operates without hope, peace and joy?

He has pushed me to be bolder in impressing upon you the urgent need to surrender every part of yourselves to Him. If you are fully surrendered, you will be in tune with that still, small Voice that gives your spirit warnings, truth, peace, hope, and protection. If you are trusting in your own knowledge, self-sufficiency, inner strength or eastern religions, you will miss His instructions and He says frankly, you will perish. That’s a frightening thought. That you made that choice all on your own.

If you believe, as someone recently told me he did, that because you were baptized as a child  all the bases are covered, you most probably will endure a rude awakening in the days to come. I repeat, if you are unconcerned about sin in your life, or are totally apathetic for whatever reason, you are in danger. If you have no conscience or conviction in your heart about your relationship with Him, you will not receive warnings, instruction or protection from Him when destruction is falling around you. Your stubbornness or sin will create a block. Please take time to consider this. The Lord will protect and provide for His faithful children when darkness moves in. But only when they are tuned in to His Voice, repentant and with hearts turned toward godly, pure lives.

That doesn’t mean we have to be perfect. It means He looks at our hearts. He knows our motives, our desires and our intents toward His purposes. We are always a work in progress as we walk the road of sanctification. The bottom line is this today: there is no more time to play Christian. It’s time to get serious because your life depends upon it. Your eternity depends upon it.  If you have confusion, doubt, fear or need help with these things, please call me. I would love to assist you in your walk with Him.

Prayer Power

Written by

Sometimes the battle weary soldier feels transported into a state of nothingness. That feeling of “I know the enemy is relentlessly attacking and wearing me down, but I’ve lost the strength, both mentally and physically, to continue fighting.” What causes him to get back up, lift the shield and sword and go at it again?

The answer is this: the prayers of the saints! There is power in the warriors of God banding together, lifting the weary soldier before the Throne, bonding him to the Word of God and to the promises that break every yoke.

As the brothers and sisters unite in prayer and praise on behalf of this one, the warring angels in the spirit realm are energized and spurred to action. The Lord sounds a battle cry, commanding the angels, giving them power and direction. They defeat the spirits of darkness with gusto.

Does this sound like a movie script? It should be, but it’s also reality. If you do not understand the spirit realm and the works of God on your behalf, you will lie down in defeat and lose out on the blessing of being refreshed, reignited and restored. Our fellow believers are gifted to us as co-warriors, as fierce collaborators in the battles we face here on the earth.

If you are a born again child of God, a believer in Jesus Christ, and submitted to Him, you will be a target for the enemy of your soul. That enemy is sent to steal, kill and destroy. He hits below the belt. He plays dirty. He will kick you when you’re down. That’s why you must understand the need for daily communion with your Father, putting on that armor of God, and praying for and with your fellow Christians. We’re all in this together.

The power that is within us through Jesus is amazing. But it must be activated. We have a choice. When the storm hits our life, we decide---do we rise up, take authority and fight, or do we lie down, cry and moan and wait to see how much worse it will get? We must be prepared every single day for the fiery darts coming at us. We must be ready to stand firm and believe that the Commander in Chief of the Heavenly Forces is ready to dispatch the warring armies on our behalf. And prayer, yes prayer, is the cannon ball, fired into the heavenlies that ignites the activity of the rescue and restore mission.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. That’s what your enemy wants---for you to have doubt and unbelief, and to decide it makes no difference. That’s his big victory. If you surrender to doubt, his plans will succeed. When you are weary from the battle, stop and remember to call out to your fellow believers to hold up your arms, to lift you to the Father, and see how fast things change. And when another calls out for prayer, be quick to respond and quick to go to the Lord on their behalf. This is a major blessing of God and we honor Him by using the weapons He has provided for our victory!

There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain

All sufficient sacrifice

So freely given

Such a price

Bought our redemption

Heaven's gates swing wide

There is power in the name of Jesus

There's an army rising up

To Break every chain

Break every chain

Break every chain

Power over Darkness

Written by

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,....., bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,  2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)

When are we going to get it? We live in a battle zone! Why is it that when things are crashing down around us we blame, we curse, we have a pity party or we curl up in a ball of despair? As believers, we know that our every move is either flesh driven, Holy Spirit driven, or manipulated by our enemy, satan.

Think about the last time you were having a bad day. Things were happening that were pushing all your buttons. You blew up in anger, or you laid down in tears. You let despair rock you all over the place. If you’re like me at all, you offered up some desperate sounding prayers while continuing on down the detour toward hopelessness.

Darkness has a slick, effective skill at blindsiding us; hitting our weak spots when we’re not looking. We get hit and we get mad at God for not stopping it. I’m just being honest here because I’m guilty.

Over and over in scripture we are taught to be alert, to be on guard, to keep that armour in place, sword drawn. We are told to guard our hearts, to stand on His promises, to speak faith, and to declare Truth. We have every weapon, every tool and most importantly the strongest power there is, Jesus Christ, abiding within us. We are already victorious, but we don’t seem to get it! We sing the songs, and quote the verses, but when the attack strikes, down we go!

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They are not physical. The weapons we hold are spiritual and they are powerful. We just have to get it, really get it----if we’re going to live above the sludge!

We are instructed to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. I am convinced that this is where we get off track. When the battle begins, right from the inception, we must stop and submit our thoughts to Him. It’s fine to call out to Him for help, but our part is to stop the negative thought patterns which lead to anger, self pity, blame, or other dark emotions. Sometimes the battle to stop those thoughts is intense, but this is the key. Once we stop and submit our thoughts, taking them captive to His will, He will help us to navigate those thoughts back toward the path to strength. Taking authority over the situation with your sword--the Word of God, will yield power over the situation. Our spiritual weapons are mighty for the pulling down of strongholds. Start proclaiming those verses, those promises, out loud and watch darkness dissipate.

If we understand the power within us, as His children, we can rise above the attacks, standing firm and confident. Get those thoughts under control and then take that insane situation that is in your face and hand it over to your Father. He has the answers. He knows the details better than you do. Trust Him.

In these last days, we are finding ourselves in the battle more than ever before. We are tested, tried and attacked. We must remember that we have been given the tools, the weapons to defeat the enemy, to defeat our fleshly weaknesses, and to stand in victory. If we don’t use what we have, it’s our own fault we’re defeated. I’m not saying it’s easy. Some days are difficult. I’m saying, (and talking to myself here), that we have all we need, and “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13)

A New Level of Spiritual Warfare, Part 3

Written by

A New Level of Spiritual Warfare…..Part 3 Nancy LaPointe

I hope you have read and thought about the first two installments of this series. The Lord put on my heart an urgency to share these things, and they are serious. Daily I see Christians who are blindly going on with their activities, ignoring the warnings the Lord is giving. There is a dangerous attitude that “nothing will happen to me” since I was baptized and believe in Jesus. Please take time to stop and ask your Father what He wants from you at this time, and really pay attention to His answer. It could be a life or death matter.

Lawlessness is increasing sharply in our land. The love of many has grown cold and is growing colder each day. (Matt 24:12) Hearts are hardened and violence abounds. As believers, we must be tuned in to the Voice of the Spirit for regular direction and guidance---for ourselves and for our families.

As I shared in Part 1, the Lord revealed to me that a new level of evil has been unleashed on the earth. He has lifted much of His old order of protections. He has warned His children again and again that judgment is coming. There are many scoffers. Don’t make the mistake of joining those ranks. Pray for discernment. Be ready to obey whatever He asks of you. It could save your life or the lives of your loved ones. He wants none to perish.

In Part 2, I told you about the ways that unhealed wounds, unforgiveness or sin can put a barrier between you and God, so that demonic forces are drawn to you, wreaking havoc in your life. It’s urgently imperative that you address your issues and get right with God now. When much more difficult days come, you need all your spiritual strength to stand firm against the enemy, leaving him no open doors for entry into your life.

Today, my final word (I think) involves the importance of utilizing the power within you that is yours if Yeshua Jesus lives in you. If you are a born again believer, you hold the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. You wield the weapons for victory on this earth as well. If you do not use them, you are toast….emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  It’s time to stop being lazy, wimpy Christians. We have power beyond any imaginable force. If we don’t use it, we will be defeated….which is in essence our choice, not God’s.

Throughout God’s Word He teaches us these principles. And yet, most Christians just fall into the pace of the world, many living in depression, defeat, and denial. What a slap in the face of our God who has given us all we need to be overcomers! (2 Peter 1:3-4)

It’s time to rise up, take authority over the flesh, the demonic world, and the negativity that steals, kills and destroys. The Lord has instructed us to speak blessings not curses. Stop speaking curses over your life, your kids, your jobs, your church.

I have been so disillusioned with preachers who “speak things into existence” constantly telling people to claim this or that, which usually involves material wealth. So disgusted with the material mindset. Well, the devil uses that too!! Because of that disgust, I have neglected to speak out in faith, claiming the things of God that are important to Him. He has told us to speak His Word, His promises, boldly going before His Throne of grace, and believe you have what you ask of Him. (Hebrews 4)  No….not focusing on a Mercedes, but boldly asking for healing, salvation for loved ones, deliverance for the ones held captive, and so on. Boldly! He is pleased and blessed when we speak blessing, when we speak faith, believing in His power to produce, heal, deliver. (Mark 11:24-25)

When we speak negativity, “I’ll never have a good job.  Nobody will ever ask me to teach. My family are all losers,” etc., we should not expect any positive changes. We are coming into agreement with the enemy and saying to God that His promises are worthless. We are double minded, and should not expect anything from God.. (James 1:8; James 4:8). Start proclaiming victory out loud. He will bless you for it.

As the days grow darker, when all around us is looking grim, we must put on the full armor of God, (Ephes 6), rise up, take authority and keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of our faith. (Heb 12:2)  If you are not ready or able to do that, trouble is on your horizon. You have all the tools, the weapons of warfare at your fingertips.( 2 Cor 10:4) It’s a matter of believing and using them. It’s up to you.

Spiritual warfare is all about knowing who you are in Christ. Knowing what power you hold. Knowing and standing firm when the fiery arrows come at you. If you wait to try and figure it out when the war is in full attack, it might be too late. Get ready now. Your life may depend on it.

New Level of Spiritual Warfare Part 2

Written by

Part 2

New Level of Spiritual Warfare

Today I want to continue sharing some things the Lord has been showing me regarding spiritual warfare. Last week I related some thoughts about our need to be constantly tuned in to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because the level of evil unleashed on the earth has increased, our level of awareness, prayer and discernment must increase as well. The Lord said His people are not prepared for things that are coming soon. If we are not honing our swords and shields now, it will be too late when more serious troubles strike. We will fold under the weight of the attacks.

I want to reiterate that the call is not to walk in fear or dread. The call is not about blaming the devil for everything and blindly going on in our sin. Just the opposite is true. While we do not see a demon behind every bush, I guarantee you there are demons lurking behind some of your bushes and you will not understand the battle if you choose to ignore them.

If we don’t understand God’s grand scheme of all things spiritual, then we won’t understand our personal role at all.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NIV

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

Please understand this----if we ignore God’s promptings to turn from sin and receive healing,  we are in effect choosing to walk in agreement with the enemy because those things are in direct conflict with the Lord and His Word. As we walk in agreement with the enemy, those demons are drawn to us like little magnets and we are opening doors for them to harass and bring us down. They always target our weak spots and sin. It’s not “the devil made me do it”; it’s a partnership.

The power within us is Jesus Christ---the power to overcome is through Him! We must take responsibility for our lives, attitudes and behaviors, but if we turn a blind eye to the attacks, that is foolish. Utilizing the power of Jesus Christ working in and through us is the key to victory! Satan was defeated at the cross. His deception is the key to his successful attacks on believers.

We must pray for discernment every day.  The Holy Spirit reveals to us when danger is lurking. He warns us when the enemy is about to move in and go for the weak spots (sin, unhealed wounds).. The devil has no power over us, except what we give him---through our sin and unbelief. I always say that our true strength in spiritual warfare is a total comprehension of who we are in Christ, standing firm on His Word, through the work of His Spirit, living godly lives. Leaving no open doors for those attacks. That’s our life insurance.

Example: I’ve had times where someone says or does something that really pushes my buttons. I react without praying or thinking, but in total negativity, hurt, or anger.  Then---I almost hear an audible “Gotcha!”  Something in my spirit jolts me to the reality that I was hit in a place where I need healing, forgiveness or to repent of resentments, etc.  Whatever the case, when I deal with that issue and let the Lord heal it, the next time something similar hits me, I can be at peace---no reacting or even hurting. In fact, if I’m paying attention to the Spirit’s Voice, I won’t even be tempted to fall for it at all. This is walking in His peace. The other person is responsible for their own ‘’stuff”.  I’m only responsible for me.

The days we are living in are rapidly becoming more and more lawless and unpredictable. Without a strong faith and spirit that is attuned to His, we are on shaky ground. The Lord has warned that we are about to see frightening scenes, disasters unlike any before, and spiritual attacks will be relentless. Please do not ignore the warnings to get your spiritual life sharpened and ready.

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16). Most commentaries agree that from the Greek translation, this speaks of a coming “evil day” which refers to the intensifying of the spiritual war in which believers are living, when dangers will increase. Satanic opposition is stronger than before. This is what the Lord has shown me is “beginning now” and is a direct step to the second coming of Jesus. Only then will we see the final destruction of satan and his legions. We are instructed to be vigilant, standing firm, so that we are not caught off guard by his schemes.  This is on the job training for the final days of confrontation.

Unseen forces operate around us at all times. If we could see in the spirit and observe the spirit realm each day, we would live and think so differently. Our Father assigns angels to guard us and do battle over us. We are surrounded and never fighting the battle alone. (Psalm 91) . Believers generally do not even recognize the host of unseen celestial entities whose power vastly exceeds our own. With some exceptions, our enemies usually remain invisible to our human eyes, but are very real. These spiritual entities exist in several forms and are named by the apostle Paul as: “rulers, powers, world forces of darkness, spiritual forces of wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6). We probably cannot grasp fully the variety and numbers of those forces which oppose us. There are rankings and descriptions in the book of Revelation as well, which speaks of creatures which we will not understand until we are living in God’s heaven. (Rev 9; Rev 5).

Remember, If we don’t understand God’s grand scheme of all things spiritual, then we won’t understand our personal role at all. “Study to show yourself approved a workman unto God, that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” (2 Tim 2:15). By studying the Bible and researching scripture on spiritual warfare, the Lord will open your spiritual eyes to more fully understand the battle in which you live. It will also offer hope and encouragement for the journey, because “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13).

A New Level Of Warfare

Written by

I’m going to be posting a series on a new level of spiritual warfare that the Lord has been showing me. Please pray over this and I welcome any feedback.

I don’t know what day it was, but a few months ago the Lord revealed to me that a new level of evil had been unleashed on the earth. Sitting in a chair in my bedroom praying, I was sensing a spiritual darkness and heaviness that was stifling. I asked Him what it was and that was His answer.

In times past, the Lord has intercepted such outpourings from satan and shielded the world in different ways. In a certain sense, He continues His protections, however, He has now removed some of His covering and is allowing the evil to follow the beckoning of the world.

Non-believers are about to experience the consequences of spitting in God’s face, rejecting Him at every turn. They have longed for and even demanded a self-centered, unholy existence and thus will begin to reap what they have sown. This is not a happy scenario nor is it what we as believers want; but nevertheless, God’s judgments have begun. The people have been warned. They refuse to listen. Lawlessness and darkness increase by the day. They have ordered it and He is allowing it to be delivered.Matthew 24:12:"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. We have definitely seen this scripture played out during the election and following. Cold, bitter hatred is flowing to a degree that can be frightening.

We also see more severe weather events, affecting thousands. Fires, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes abound. People are losing loved ones, homes, businesses, pets, and more. Do they call out to God, turning their lives to Him? Or do they curse Him and refuse to see His hand in all of it? This is a defining moment for many. We need to pray they will choose life, choose Him.

What does the increase in lawlessness mean for us, as His children? It is time to get serious. Like never before. We can no longer play games. We must be on our faces before God, in regular communion with Him, in repentence for our own ungodliness, and tuned to His directives. If evil is unleashed at a new level, our understanding of spiritual warfare is also being pushed to a new level. He has shown me that wimpy, anemic little prayers are not going to cut it. We must be empowered from on High, filled with the Holy Spirit, built up in our faith, and never, ever entertain doubt or unbelief. The enemy knows our level of faith and will manipulate us in our weakest places. He showed me that the forces of darkness are stronger than ever, and His people are weaker than ever. Most people pass through each day without a thought of the unseen forces at work around them.

Are you well grounded in your comprehension of who you are in Christ? Do you have an understanding of the power within you as Jesus lives in and through you? If not, you cannot waste a single day. You must get these truths deeply embedded into your thinking and belief system … now. If you need help, ask for it.

We must be walking in the Spirit throughout our days and nights. We must be in some mode of prayerfulness at all times. Constant communion with the Father keeps us on track.  We must ask the Lord to fill us with a fresh filling of His Holy Spirit, don our armors, cover our families and homes with the blood of Jesus, and be attuned to the leading and guidance of His Voice. He will give discernment, warnings, direction and leading down the right roads. The enemy’s whispers will be stronger than ever, and will be attempting to convince us it’s God’s voice instead of his. God’s sheep know His Voice. But deception abounds. If our guard is down, we can fall prey to that deception. Deception is what leads the world into the arms of the Antic hrist system.

Revelation 12:17 says “the dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.” Satan is angry with us, and he’s going to get even angrier. He knows his time is short. He operates primarily on deception. This why we have no choice except to be soaking up the Word of God and standing on Truth. We cannot be led astray by our emotions, false prophecies, false teachings, or false signs and wonders. These are happening now, even in prominent churches, and will increase. This is a precursor to the devastating deception to come.

Be alert. Be vigilant. Be aware. Every second. One night last week I had been praying before I went to sleep and also listening to a teaching on faith. I fell asleep with a strong sense of peace and faith and trust in my Father. At 3:30 a.m. I awoke to a loud crash, startling me to sit up in bed with my heart pounding. A large framed picture I had on the wall across from my bed had fallen, knocked two pottery vases onto the floor and made quite a mess. That picture had been there in that spot for ten years. The nail was still intact in the wall.  I felt a dark spirit in the room. I began to pray. Interestingly, the picture was of a large, warrior angel. I felt it was some sort of message. As I prayed, I realized that even though I knew this was a spiritual attack, I felt no fear, no anxiety. I had perfect peace. Praise God!

It wasn’t just that the picture fell. You might say it was just a fluke. I know when demon spirits are coming at me. I never have to wonder. Other times I’ve had things fall or go bump in the night mysteriously and I know it’s nothing. I pray for that discernment every day and God gives it. And believe me, I’ve had much more serious attacks. This was just one example.

I don’t want to belabor this point today. I just feel the Lord urging me to impress upon you to be aware that things are different at this point than they’ve ever been. The lawlessness will increase. The darkness will grow. We are approaching the days described which must come to pass before Jesus’ return.

The flip side---the good side--is that He is going to empower us like never before as well! We are going to see miracles. We are going to do miracles in His name! We are His chosen ones and He has good plans. We need to encourage one another continually to stand strong through the battles because the victories are about to be phenomenal!

We cannot take part in the glories if we crumble in the attacks, or if we fall into deception along the way. Please heed the warnings and keep your swords sharpened and your armor oiled.

Peace On a One Way Street

Written by

What is stabbing your heart today? What’s behind the deep, throbbing pain keeping you awake at night? You are busy all day long, but there’s always that moment where you stop and almost double over as that one things eats away at your soul. It seems God is silent when you call out to Him. It appears that no one can help. It’s such a difficult and hopeless situation. And you wonder if anyone really cares. You ask God and yourself what reason you shoud have to dare to hope. Nothing has come along yet to resolve the situation.

Many of us have walked this journey of despair and fear and hopelessness. I can remember times throughout my life when all these questions were wearing away my faith and trust in God, and in people.  Believe it or not, you are not alone. More people than you can ever imagine are dealing with unseen pain. If you’re looking at social media, you would decide that everyone else is partying, happy, and living the good life. Everyone but you. What a magnificent deception!

We are actually quite adept at covering up our fears, worries and depression. We put on a strong persona and march on. And secretly, we wish that someone would come along and reach out in love and take the pain away. Occasionally that happens. Usually it doesn’t.

There is only One Who can truly touch our soul, and heal the pain. Why doesn’t He act faster? Why doesn’t He fix the problem NOW so that I can move on? Does He really care? Your Abba Father is your Daddy, your Papa, the One Who loves you beyond what any human person can offer. Keep believing that. Keep trusting that Truth. Know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes. (Romans 8:28)

My dear friends, our world is in a big mess. You already know that. Lawlessness is spinning around us. Not only do we face personal issues, but we face chaos on a worldwide scale. NOW IS THE TIME to draw near to God. NOW IS THE TIME to get your heart right. NOW IS THE TIME to press in, trust in Him and realize that it’s the only answer to having peace in the midst of the storm.

Deception is rampant. Get up each morning and praise your Father and ask Him for discernment for the day. Learn how to hear the still, small Voice that warns you when you’re in danger. That Voice guides your decisions. That Voice pours out peace on your soul when troubles abound. It’s the only answer. He is the only way to peace. He hears your every cry. His timing may not seem right to you, but it’s perfect. Trust that. If you’re His and walking with Him, He is orchestrating every detail of your situation and you can be assured that you are in good hands.

If you need prayer, please let me know. I will lift you up to the Father and encourage you in any way I can. Be ready to lay down all your own epectations and desires, to be submitted to His plan. The benefits are limitless! He has the answer to your question; He has healing for your pain. He loves you deeply. Don’t doubt! Declare your faith boldly and see what happens. Doubt and unbelief are planted and nurtured by the enemy of your soul. Don’t stand in agreement with that. It will bring you down and keep you in turmoil.  Look up, keeping your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Your redemption draws nigh.  Shalom.

Peace in Chaos

Written by

What an eventful week! Undoubtedly a week of thought provoking days and nights with people on all political spectrums re-evaluating what matters most. One thing we can all agree on is that life is a roller coaster ride. The highs and lows seem out of control at times, but those of us who are grounded in God know where to go to stop the insanity that whirls around us.

My purpose in writing today is to offer hope. That is not always easy when some are in despair. Two years ago the Lord impressed on my heart the need to write my book, “Living in God’s Rest...At Peace in a Chaotic World.”We thought things were chaotic then, but look at us now! God knew the direction we were and are headed.

Don’t hide your head in the sand my friends. The world is in chaos and this chaos will not end because your candidate won. It won’t end if your candidate lost and has plans to arise from the ashes either. God is in control and He is the only one Who can end chaos. His Word stands and He offers us peace in the midst of all storms.  If you choose to reject that peace, you have that option. You can run from Him, spit in His face, curse Him, whatever, but He still pours out love toward your heart and waits patiently for you to come to His lap of mercy and grace.

As troubles swirl around us, pain and suffering will hit many of our own families and homes. NOW IS THE TIME to come to the throne of mercy and get our hearts right with the Father. He protects His children. He instructs in the dark hours. He heals, delivers and provides. Only His sheep hear His voice. If you are backslidden, enjoying a sinful life, ignoring His promptings, you are in danger. If you’ve never come to Christ, you are in danger. When these serious disasters hit, where will you turn? Who will lead you to safety? How will you know what to do next? You will not hear the still small voice of the Lord. It could mean life or death to you.

It is possible to be at peace, when all around us in in chaos. God put on my heart many lessons in learning to walk in peace. He is our Peace. He instills peace within us. When disaster falls, how can we be light and offer hope to hurting people, if we are panicked and full of fear? We must learn how to trust God and rest in His arms. It is possible!!

If you have not read my book, I encourage you to get it now. This is not about selling books. If you want it and can’t afford to buy it, send me a message and I’ll be happy to send you a free copy. I want you to sleep in peace each night, assured that your Father is watching over you and your family. I want you to get your life in tune with His will so that He can not only protect and provide for you, but so that He can use you to be a light to others in these troubled times.

If you don’t know Jesus or don’t even understand why you should consider knowing Him, please contact me with your questions and concerns. I’d love to visit with you. I’ll pray with you. I’ll do my best to show you the difference in living life in peace and trust, and living fearfully in a panicked and broken world. If God is prompting your spirit, don’t ignore it. At least see what He’s all about and then make your decision.

I love you all and appreciate your messages and support. Keep your eyes on  Yeshua Jesus. He is our only real Hope. Shalom.
